Chemical engineers working at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have developed a hydrogen fuel cell that measures only 3 millimeters across. That could mean longer lasting, eco-friendly power for your gadgets.
This new cell utilizes only four components—a water reservoir and a chamber containing metal hydride separated by a thin membrane with an assembly of electrodes that conduct electricity underneath. Because of the small size of the cell, the team was able to eliminate the pump, pressure sensor, and controlling electronics that create such a power drain in typical fuel cells.
The first designs of the cell were capable of generating 0.7 volts and a current of 0.1 milliamps for 30 hours—but they claim that new versions can deliver 1 milliamp at a similar voltage

ART: Google Earth Publishes Stunning 14 GIGApixel Photos of El Prado Masterpieces
One of the best things of happened in Madrid is El Prado, which has some of the most amazing paintings ever. Now you can see them in Google Earth, at a stunning 14-billion-pixel resolution.
Although there's nothing comparable—in this case, this is the closest you can get to them from anywhere in the world. In fact, you can get closerer and closerer than in front of the real thing, unless you want some Prado staff to hit you on the legs with a taser.
The amazing images are 14 gigapixels, 1,400 times the resolution of a 10 megapixel camera. As you can see in this video, Mad pixel doesn't use any special camera, but a machine-controlled digital camera and algorithms to compensate for deformation and stitch the final result. Zooming in to see the masters' technique and the detail in the painting is just mind blowing.Watch the amazing video

The Flash Drive Band keeps your files with you
There have been numerous attempts at making a wearable flash drive that the general public can use and appreciate. This new Flash Drive Band will appeal to the minimalist that doesn’t need the crystal covered flash drives. It’s just a simple black bracelet, that would work for both men and women. That is of course as long as they enjoy the overall look of the bracelet. However, it does have the usual setback that comes with most wearable USB drives, it’s lacking a bit in storage space.
It features a 512mb drive, which will work for smaller files. It just all depends on what you use it for. Likely if you’re looking into a wearable USB drive, you might just be using it for numerous smaller projects throughout the day. Small USB drives do have their perks, it’s just nice to have the option to store larger files or more items on the drive. However, the drive makes up for it by having a price that won’t break the bank. It’ll cost you $29.95 .
